What's my gimmick?

Lots of blogs that I read seem to be about highly motivated people doing things.  They lose amazing amounts of weight, talk about how they're saving the environment by going green, and perfectly parent their kids.  I'll be honest--I don't recycle, have no idea how to start a compost heap, use disposable diapers, and feed my kid fast food.  I haven't worked out in over two months.  I consider eating fruit and vegetables amazingly virtuous.  I have an terrific nanny.

I married the most goyish Jew in the world.  He is a conservative Republican, which is like being a traitor to the tribe.  I have a son who is on the autism spectrum.  I have a crush on his preschool teacher (but so do all the moms).  I used to teach middle school English and hope to go back to it after I am sure that my son will be well enough without me there all the time.

If you're looking for daily affirmations,  this is not the blog for you.  If you like bad reality tv, have an abiding love of actor Michael Emerson, and are not trying to save the world, come talk with me.
